This capacity-building session is organised within the framework of the Interreg Euro-MED Mission for Natural Heritage and is specifically tailored for members of the Mission’s Working Groups.
Organising Partners: Plan Bleu, Marine Institute, MedCities, IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation, Region of Crete, Autonomous Region of Sardinia, and the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Region Development from Montenegro.

The webinar offer a comprehensive overview of key legal and policy frameworks shaping conservation efforts across the Mediterranean coastal zone. It will include expert presentations, practical insights into implementation challenges, and a special focus on the upcoming United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC), including opportunities for engagement through the Mission community.
The webinar take place entirely in a plenary format, bringing together all participants in a shared space for learning and exchange. Throughout the session, experts deliver a comprehensive and accessible overview of the main legal and policy frameworks relevant to natural heritage in the Mediterranean coastal zone. Presentations cover the key objectives, core provisions, and practical implications of these instruments, alongside an exploration of implementation challenges.
In addition, the webinar include a focused segment on the upcoming United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC). This segment inform participants about UNOC’s objectives, processes, and opportunities for representation within the Mission for Natural Heritage community.
